I bought my first good camera while serving overseas in the Air Force,
and read the directions, which said, "load film, start business". So I did. It
is now many years later, and the awe and wonder I felt watching that first
black and white print come up in the developing tray has now been replaced by
the limitless possibilities of digital photography, with equal doses of awe and
wonder. But never let the technology become a means to an end. Your eye and
your vision are where your images are created.
A wise man (National Geographic photographer Joe McNally) once said, "if you want to take more interesting photographs, stand in front of more interesting things".
